Madrid Bus

The Madrid Bus system is one of the longest in terms of route length at 3690 KM which spreads all over the city & suburbs. This is a very dense route with 217 routes and 11000 stops around the city and suburbs. Bus stops are every 300M covering every resident of Madrid.

The dense and complex system is maintained and operated by  Madrid's Municipal Transport Corporation (Empresa Municipal de Transportes de Madrid, or EMT Madrid. The buses are the only system in Madrid that is open 21 hours a day making it very reliable. Since this is a large network, slow traffic in the city led up to the 90 km long Bus lanes making them more reliable.
